How to hook up my scanner to my Mac computer?

My printer is connected to my computer because I can print from it. But I do not know as I scan. there is no printer icon on my dock. I was able to scan on my old macbook, but now I can not. How do I find the scanner? Thank you for help!

Search Google for your printer / scanner combo, Mac, and the word "driver." Sometimes the printer driver (software that are your Computer with the printer does not connect) come with the computer, and you have to install it yourself. It sounds like you have the drivers for the printer, but not the scanner. After all, if you do not have software that will connect the scanner to the computer, it will not recognize it.
