how can i make an excel spreadsheet that will auto-fill a word document?
i want to make an excel spreadsheet (say, 4 columns of data) that will auto filll a word document using any line of data i choose. basically, when i visit my clients, i collect data from them (name, address, city, service performed), and i input that data in an excel spreadsheet. i want to be able to choose any row and produce a word document that will auto fill with the data i input for that client (an invoice).
does excel have this capability? if not, does access?

The answer given above is the correct answer for a Word doc; but I wonder why you don't use an Access database to create your data source and then use the report feature to create your document.
You can import your excel spreadsheet into Access as a csv file to build your table.
Then make your report using the report wizard to create your invoice.
Build a query to select your records to incorporate into the report. If you need further help with this, feel free to email me directly.
