In case the lens gets slightly displaced i cant get the it out of my eye. I need to rub the eye till it slides
there are days when the lens slides on to the corner or bottom of the eye and then i have to struggle for a good 15 mins to get the lens out of my eye.. this causes the eye to get red and finally i can get it out only by rubbing the eye till the lens moves to the corner of the eye and slides out. Am i doing something wrong to displace the lens. Has anybody experienced this?
It sounds to me like you have dry eyes. You should have that checked. It's a very simple test. Your eye doctor may want you to use artificial tears every day. Or, he/she might suggest that you use the tears (drops) only when the lens gets stuck.
I have VERY dry eyes, and struggled with hard contacts from age 13-28. Finally I had to give up. My left eye could not tolerate the lens anymore. (It hurt too much.) The idea of you having to rub your eye until it gets red does not sit well with me.
Make an appt. with your eye doctor. An optometrist is good enough. In the meantime, buy some inexpensive artificial tears. Good luck!
