Epson Scanners V500

Epson V500 flatbed scanner settings for "Sprocket Hole" pictures?
I just got this scanner to use with my Holga and have been experimenting with the "Adjustments" my question is does anyone have an idea on how to compensate for the sprocket holes? Because when I Marquee off the sprocket holes the image is more colorful. Then when I expand the Marquee to include the holes , the image is washed out. I hope I have explained my dilemma. I welcome any advise on this matter. Thanks to you all in advance
I found the answer to my question, it was a simple fix. there is a "continuos auto exposure" under the " configurations" tab. After turning it off, I was able to Marquee off the area just inside the sprocket holes. then click on the auto exposure marker. then expand the Marquee to include the sprocket holes. I moded my Holga 120CFN for 35mm and it exposes the area outside the sprocket holes for a pretty neat look image, and scan it with the 120 Epson film tray
You will need to determine how "washed out" (overexposed) your image is and then correct for it in the scanning software. The added light that is coming through the 35 mm sprocket holes is confusing the auto exposure feature of your V500.
My guess is it is about one to one and a half stops over exposed. Cut back on the exposure until you get the perfect copy.
