Recommendations for entry / medium-level film scanner needed!?

I'm going with all the 35mm color slide films, and why I want in a film scanner to invest. (I have tried, and only get online searches, scanners reviews from 2001-2002 and the advice they are probably out of date) I use Mac OSX, so for the support is very important. So, I'm an amateur photographer, so I can scan my entire time movies. Need your opinions and recommendations!

It sells for $ 550 at B & H and Adorama, but it is not currently available in both locations. It supports Mac OS 9 and OS X (10.1.5 or later). Macintosh System Power PC G3 or later (G4 or higher recommended) Mac OS 9 (9.1 or higher), Mac OS X (10.1.5 or higher) Built - in USB port, 128MB RAM or more (512 MB or more recommended) 70 MB hard disk space for Installation required (200 MB recommended), with an additional 200MB (Mac OS 9) or 550MB (Mac OS X) of free space available while Nikon Scan is running 800 x 600 display with 16-bit color (full color) CD-ROM drive required for installation
