Goldfish question easy 10 points?
I have 2 telescope eye goldfish in a 30 gallon tank both are 3.5 inches long. The tank is established my test kit shows no ammonia, nitrite, 20ppm nitrate, 7.6 ph. The water is 72 degress. They still eat normally they just lay on the gravel for couple of hours the swim then lay all day long is this normal?
They are a bit lethargic because your temperature is at the high end of the tolerance range for goldfish. Your parameters are fine and the tank size is good. The fish will be fine. I'm assuming your temp is 72F because of the outside air temp and your average room temp. My temp ranges between 65F - 75F with the seasons (75F rare and only during 3-4 day heat waves in the summer).
As long as your temps rise/fall gradually with the seasonal temp changes, don't worry. The "laziness" is simply due to the warm temps..... it's normal.
